Easy Exercise for Appreciation and Gratitude

Here’s another super-simple way to begin an appreciation and gratitude exercise daily – just start thinking and speaking your appreciation for everything you see all day. Start with the things in your immediate vicinity when you wake up in the morning.

“I appreciate this bed. I appreciate these slippers. I appreciate having a cozy home to live in.” As you continue with your day, deliberately focus on your appreciation for everything and everyone you encounter.

You don’t have to get overly emotional about it; be lighthearted as you just keep saying, “I appreciate that, I appreciate that, I appreciate that . . .”

If focusing on gratitude is easier for you, keep saying, “I’m grateful for that, I’m grateful I have this, I’m grateful for having seen that, I’m grateful for my life, I’m grateful for that too . . .”

Little by little, you should notice that your emotional state starts to lift and you feel better and better. Not only that, your continual focus on things to appreciate and feel grateful for should keep attracting more and more good things just like them! :-)

If you want to challenge yourself a little bit, try finding one or more things to appreciate or feel grateful for in so-called negative situations. When you can do that, you will be a master of appreciation and gratitude!
