I so much appreciate the pause between Christmas and a New Year. Christmas is a time for celebration, a time to focus on the blessings in our lives and be grateful for them. Then a pause – seven days to gear up for the coming New Year.
The number 7 is thought to be a mystical, powerful number in many cultures. It represents good luck, wisdom, purpose, spiritual perfection and completion of a cycle.

What this means for us is that we have the gift of seven days to reflect on the previous year, tie up loose ends and begin a New Year unencumbered.
Think about the things you would like to release before entering the New Year.
Did you spend much of the previous year feeling stifled by limiting beliefs? Did you worry a lot? Did you feel stressed and overburdened by unnecessary obligations?
Anything that did not serve your highest good can be released now so you start the New Year in a more empowered state of mind.
Beyond mental and emotional housecleaning, we can also use this seven day pause to get our homes, vehicles and work places decluttered and start the New Year with a sense of freedom, lightness and clarity. File away old paperwork, throw out or give away anything you no longer need, and organize the rest of your belongings.
Then clean your home, car and workspace to sweep away all stagnant, lingering energy. Light some sweet-smelling candles or incense afterward and meditate, visualizing brilliant white light flowing into every nook and cranny of your home and life. Imagine that this light dissolves all fear, pain, doubt and sadness, and begins to draw more abundance, joy, love, harmony and well-being to you and your loved ones.
Ring in the New Year with a great sigh of relief and enthusiasm – and vow to make it your best year yet!
